Biography:

gonz is pretty much a work in progress. born in São Paulo, and always living there. all his childhood and teenagehood was filled by pratices in drawnings, paintings and sculptures. in 1999, while studying visual arts at the Faculdade de Belas Artes de São Paulo, he started to show interest in digital art and digital media in general. following that, in 2000, he got he signed up for his first job at an agency, Casulo Web. there he started to learn the principles of web and interactive design. Later on, in 2003, he started working for Dickmans Design, focusing on Flash and ActionScript, taking it as an alicerce for his developing media art projects. by the end of 2003 he got his degree and moved on. the next two and a half years he worked at Global Map as Art Director. by that time, he started to look for new horizons, and working on diferent projects that needed a little change of focus. HTML/CSS had to be common knowledge to him. in the meantime he got his bull terrier Rocco, and moved with his girlfriend. By the end of 2005, Global Map closed doors, and Gonz went to work at Guan Comunicação Digital, but this time taking care of all the front-end developement, be it in html/css or flash, he is the man. but he never got away from the creative process, as he kept doing work as art director and illustrator with the collective Incidental Media, since 2006. he believes that the most important thing to know is what takes you forward and what holds you back.
