Job:
Graphic Designer
Website
None
Status:
Employed
Biography:

I design graphics for websites, create hand-drawn illustrations and can walk on my hands. Or my feet if you prefer. I do occasionally design stuff for print too, although not so much these days. I am gainfully employed at the wonderful (soon to be called*) Setfire Media, but I also do stuff in my own time.

*The company is currently called something else, but it sucks and no-one understands it, so I'm not going to bother you with it here. We'll be fully rebranded soon anyway, so don't worry about that.

Interests:

People, stories, art.

Design books you should read - part 1.

What is a Designer - Norman Potter

This neat little book concentrates on theory, rather than showing off the author's design process. This means there are no pictures. It also means you might actually learn a thing or two, as opposed to just looking at pretty graphics and wondering how it's done. Potter comes across as a genuine and likeable figure with a real passion for his subject. Above all there is the earnest desire to help educate designers of all levels and make them think a bit more about the processes we go through, both in learning and plying our trade. Recommended for anyone who wants to think a bit deeper about design. Find out more here
