I paint...?

I paint because I am a girl. I paint girls because I am one. I paint landscapes because I am from the midwest. I paint because I wear makeup. I paint because I am concerned with the spiritual more then the physical.

Painting isn't smart, or special, or fast. Painting isn't new. Painting will always confuse me.

When I was little I would sew, make drawings of kittens and puppies and play with barbies. I watched cartoons and played dress up. The first time I painted someone gave me a canvas with a clown drawn on it and I filled it in with color.

I paint to decorate, I paint to narrate. Painting isn't taken seriously, it's just pigment, and thats ok.

Why do I paint? I'm a girl.
