The Unknown Effects

So these days isnt like it used to be maybe 4 or 5 years ago. Id just moved to London, was working a full time position and had a lot of energy. So much so that id be working weekends and staying up till 3am during the week. It was all about that goal of being 'one of the best', it was about the respect from my peers and it was about cramming as much information into my tiny little brain as possible. I loved it and I still do... but... what are the effects of sitting in the same position for 12 hours every day, 5 days a week sometimes even 7? What are the effects of staring into glass and plastic all day and maybe more importantly what are the effects of being constantly intouch with people whether its by e-mail or messenger?

Now its all a little different, you have to juggle between a cocktail of elements that make up your life. Work, social life, loved ones, exercise, relaxation, your 5 a day etc etc recently I've been thinking a lot about how we sit day after day connected to others, we kind of take this instant communication for granted now too. What worries me is one major thing... does this make us less able to cope being completely on our own?

We're in some way the first generation to experience the new media lifestyle, the back aches, the RSI, the endless blogs, the endless flaming and online rioting. Im not really sure where this post is going, just felt the need to vent some thoughts and worries. Im glad I no longer live the lifestyle I once did but at the same time dont regret it.
