A Forum, stat! Héhé. Seriously, I'd love some capabilities to change font colour in the blog / and categorical blog such as Personal (including my life matters, or upcoming exhibition of mine , etc) / General (including general posts such as new updates seen at some site, or featurette, or whatever that doesnt directly relates to personal thing.)

That is all I've got in back of my mind at the moment.

The ability to just show on the creative network map jobs, just people online, or events happening instead of all of it at the same time. If there are six people online in London it is tough sometimes to click all the bullseyes with events and jobs listed. Also love the new feature where you can see how many people have viewed your profile. Maybe now give the ability to list those users names who viewed you.

moveinspace Posted by: moveinspace 802 days ago

To list the usernames that viewed your profile would indeed be good. Also people could be notified when somebody adds you as a connection.

Some kind of invitation function that sends a mail to people you want to invite to participate at Computerlove...

A search function, that searches computerlove would be nice.

A "best of galleries" section where the most viewed or highest rated images of all galleries are shown would be cool.

Oh, that was a lot... Anyway Computerlove is already good as it is. It is really the best community I know now. The quality of the works, news and designers is high... that's good!
So thanks for your good work and maintainance...

phillennium Posted by: phillennium 802 days ago

theres a best of gallery. Its the Gold Directory, hand picked by the crew. We'll do a highest ranked once we get a significant amount of scoring.

As for a list of those who viewed your profile, its too big of a mysql query. The table might get huge very quickly. So thats a no, but we will make a page taht lists who has added you as their connection.

There is a search function. Go to the homepage of Computerlove and look at the top right corner. It is in a collection of red links. Click on "Search". This page will let you search all blog posts. In Gold Directory, theres a search option to search galleries. And in Creative Network, theres a form at the top of the page to search users.

As for the invitation system, that's definitely a go. Give us some time to plan it out and code it out, first.

Thanks so for the replies.

P.S. Coming soon - Ajax commenting, Ajax gallery rating, and Ajax bookmark deleting. Expect a significant page load time decrease by the weekend. Cl is expected to load within a second by friday after some final optimizations.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 802 days ago

I think a forum might be good, although that kind of goes against/takes away from the blog-commenting. I don't think its something thats urgent.
I was going to suggest load time, but you beat me to it ;)
Possibly added functionality that notifies you when someone adds you as a connection?
Adding categories to the blogs is a good idea.
I think the gallery/Woomp process is a bit cumbersome. Especially when Woomp! doesn't function properly on Mac/Safari and having to go to another site to upload work before you can post it here can be streamlined/intergrated in CL I think.

Thats it...

helloMuller Posted by: helloMuller 802 days ago

yeah agree on most of the above... defo need to seperate the news feeders blogs into personal and news so that we can post news and not have it sat in our personal blog forever...
a date for when comments / ratings were added to galleries would be nice also...

TheRonin Posted by: TheRonin 802 days ago

think it would be nice, if the user could change the timezone (GMT+/- ...), so it would be easier to find out for instance when exactly (at local time) a message arrived etc... everything else has already been said, i think.

lowstyle Posted by: lowstyle 802 days ago

lowstyle, when the server tells you how long ago a message arrived, thats universal. So its always true. If its says "message receive 3 seconds ago", the message was indeed received 3 seconds ago.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 802 days ago

well...

lowstyle Posted by: lowstyle 802 days ago

lol. anyway, if any of you guys can, pass this post around. Tell others to comment this. And dont be afraid to say something that was already said. Just reinforce what someone else already said.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 802 days ago

List users that viewed your profile would be good and be notified when somebody adds you as a connection.

sherman Posted by: sherman 802 days ago

Oh =) ... sorry that I didn't see the search function. hgrlmpf...

phillennium Posted by: phillennium 802 days ago

A forum to discuss designmatters could work, although i'm not a fan. I like the design of the cpluv-site. Don't think it's a good idea to push this personalising-thing (changing colours, different types, etc.) to far. (There's a link to the personal website anyway). A listing of usernames with your connection is a nice feature. I also liked to see a list of new/recent galleries (maybe with the categorie, like illustration, photo, type, etc.) and not just the "popular" or "latest spotted". (Maybe a random-button?) Bye!

JRN Posted by: JRN 802 days ago

JRN, there is a list of recent galleries. Go to "Gold Directory" and then click on "All Galleries" at the top right of the page. Its a red link. Keep the comments comingm, yall.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 802 days ago

Wow! That's fast! ;-)

JRN Posted by: JRN 802 days ago

lol, it was always there. keep passing this post around to everyone.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 802 days ago

hey, maybe it's a good idea to first provide a map of all the well-hidden features here, so users don't have to be afraid of requesting something that's already there ;)

lowstyle Posted by: lowstyle 802 days ago

haha....i think the main problem is that no one notices the upper right hand links.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 802 days ago

Oh no! I always confused the Gold Directory with the Premium channel... both gold... that's too much for my mind =)

phillennium Posted by: phillennium 802 days ago

lol, phillenium.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 802 days ago

Ahhh hearing the comment about the Premium channel reminded me of something. I hate how the link in the premium channel is lost on the original page. Maybe link it at the top as well next to the Gold directory button. Secondly when you go the Premium Channel you don't have a list to choose which channel to view and who are on those channels. Love the feature just wish it was more accesible. Lastly for all users that list their birthday send them a 17" Macbook Pro for their birthday. Make them pay shipping of course you can't give everything away for free.

moveinspace Posted by: moveinspace 801 days ago

lol, expect something new for the Premium Channel in the coming weeks. Something big!

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 801 days ago

I like the ideas that have been commented. My only point would be to keep ComputerLove as it is. A creative and a professional environment where we can share and comment on different ideas and news in a mature yet fun manner. I don't want Computer Love to just be another outlet for individuals who aren't that serious and cause trouble.

shapemould Posted by: shapemould 801 days ago

yes i agree shapemould. We do have alot of plans that will keep Computerlove in that direction of being a sound place to discover great works.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 801 days ago

The site is def HOT as it is right now but things can always be improved upon. Fast loads are important... I'm thinking I would like to see some suggested content. There is sooo much stuff on CPluv that I don't have time to check everything out. If I see something I like, suggesting similar content will keep me looking at what I really want to see. Much respek.

touhey Posted by: touhey 801 days ago

great suggestions/ideas I see here, keep up the output users! we want to make CL to be most accessible and user-friendly professional community! =]

Ravi Posted by: Ravi 801 days ago

maybe an automatic alert when you got a comment on one of your blog post.
A forum.

RumberoDesign Posted by: RumberoDesign 801 days ago

It's getting better and better, while I'ts already the most accessible and user-friendly professional community to me. very good work you programmers!

beeldendkabaal Posted by: beeldendkabaal 801 days ago

Remembered something else. I wish when you clicked on a link it opened in a new window. I don't like having to go back to CPLUV if there are a few links I want to visit.

moveinspace Posted by: moveinspace 801 days ago

all links in blog posts and newsfeed posts already open in a new window....

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 801 days ago

Creativity and diversity, that's what makes cpluv unique. It's the common thing between all the users. I see a lot of amazing 'design-for-music' and 'motion-design with great soundscapes'. But what about music itself? Don't know how it could be integrated in the cpluv-concept. Maybe it shouldn't. Just an idea that crossed my mind...

JRN Posted by: JRN 801 days ago

Im thinking of integrating Last.fm into CL.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 801 days ago

Hah after your comment nemesis I tested it on my other machine. Seems to be a Firefox/PC issue. Only one that doesn't open a new window.

moveinspace Posted by: moveinspace 801 days ago

hhhhm, i will have a look. It should open. Whats your FF version?

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 801 days ago

All of the links I tested in total (about 30) all of them opens in a new window, so that's a go! =]

Ravi Posted by: Ravi 801 days ago

Bah old version of Firefox. Thanks Ravi and Truenemesis for the IT help. Disregard everything I say from here on out.

moveinspace Posted by: moveinspace 800 days ago

lol, moveinspace. dont feel that bad. lol.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 800 days ago

moveinspace: haha, just listen to what truenemsis just said! don't feel bad, it is a honest mistake.

by the way, another idea - archive list of all motions which has been promo'ed in premium channel would be nice.

Ravi Posted by: Ravi 800 days ago

The site does look a bit odd in Opera 9. ;)

PaulH Posted by: PaulH 800 days ago

Nevermind it's fine now. :-S

PaulH Posted by: PaulH 800 days ago

lol. we do know it blows in Opera beta. lol.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 800 days ago

haha, and IE too.

Ravi Posted by: Ravi 800 days ago

haven't read all of the above comments dude but a "last commented" feature would be nice so you can see what you last commented on and see if anyone has replied (for instance me commenting on here)

TheRonin Posted by: TheRonin 799 days ago

would be exellent to have the possibility to categorize the blog...

Also, the "post" bookmarks desepear often, that is normal?

And, maybe, just a suggestion, have the obligation for all users to have, at last an icon and a presentation post in the blog...

I think it will be usufull to have a explication part, or a pdf, that describe how to bookmark, how to make a gallery... Images would be worlwide understandable...

Other wise, computer love is very good like this...

imoments Posted by: imoments 799 days ago

imoments, the pdf should be really taken care of - so this shall be one of our priority release in next few weeks. hopefully we will be able to get most of it released soon as possible.

theronin, that idea would work superbly!

users keeeeep all these ideas, suggestions, fixes coming! =]

Ravi Posted by: Ravi 799 days ago

Expect a huge update sometime in July.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 798 days ago

would be nice to be able to see how many people rated a gallery, i think. regards, a

lowstyle Posted by: lowstyle 791 days ago

okay, lowstyle, thats very possible.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 791 days ago

thats very nice :)

lowstyle Posted by: lowstyle 791 days ago

Me!

thinkdust Posted by: thinkdust 788 days ago

lol thinkdust. I got 400+ hits via this blog post. if you make a really good, conversation-producing blog post, ur blog hit will sky rocket.

Truenemesis Posted by: Truenemesis 785 days ago

hey, how about one more panel on the right, showing one's online contacts? maybe just a list or something... don't know?

lowstyle Posted by: lowstyle 767 days ago

Another idea... the possibility to order your gallerry... like on woomps you can now say which order the pictures will appear first, second... make sense?
