sounds great and so much closer to me than the offf in barcelona! yet 400 euro for a ticket alone!? that makes a trip to barcelona with offf tickets included for me 10 times cheaper than a trip to stockholm with these tickets although stockholm is like 40 times closer. are they nuts!? greedy bastards! i haven't been this ANGRY since i missed jan wilker's (karlssonwilker inc.) visitation to my local ad club just because the ad club wasn't updating their website's news section for a few months.
The ticket to Typoberlin costs 645 euro
The ticket to the ATypI conference costs 550 euro
It's not a matter of greed, it's just that similar sized events have similar priced fees. Unless they have strong sponsorship behind them to support part of the cost.
And you don't have to be angry about it. Just SMART. All these events have "early bird fees" and "student fees" that save you up to 50%.
And in this specific one, the ED-Week, you're only talking about the conference price. There is a bunch of parallel events (exhibitions, presentations, design walks etc), which you can take advantage off at no fee whatsoever ;)
apparently OFFF is the only design festival that knows what sponsors are for.
well i have decided to go, anyway. but it's still frustrating that getting to a foreign country is twenty times cheaper than attending an event in the country.
