SONGBIRD
Songbird is a desktop media player mashed-up with the Web. Songbird is committed to playing the music you want, from the sites you want, on the devices you want, challenging the conventions of discovery, purchase, consumption and organization of music on the Internet.
Songbird is a player and a platform. Like Firefox, Songbird is an open source, Open Web project built on the Mozilla platform. Songbird provides a public playground for Web media mash-ups by providing developers with both desktop and Web APIs, developer resources and fostering Open Web media standards, to wit, an Open Media Web.

Tried downloading it again last month and the Download link didn't work. The whole website is down now.
yeah, I thought it was a skin for itunes.
I wonder if they got sued..
They were looking for skin designers a while ago.
Hey -- this is Rob from Songbird. Think of Songbird as the Firefox of media players, an open iTunes.
Forget the looks and think of the functions they've built. It's not great that it's looks are similar to iTunes but thats quite easily rectifiable, the important point is the excellent work producing an open source platform such as this. Good work
For all the apple fanboys, is this the first time you'll see a product using an Apple skin look like?!?!?!
Try Winamp, VLC player...everybody use it...even Vista's skin look like..

Actually - the Mascot is the best part of this entire thing for me. Although - he seems a bit gassy? Seriously, I really enjoy the creative choices concerning the mark/avatar. it gives the product the right kind of attitude.
