moving on!
I've been at my current position for 5-6 years. Just made a move and will be at a new organization June 15th! I can't wait to see where this move takes me.

realization
Today I stopped my denial.
I have accepted that I have joined the ranks of many.
I am an Xbox widow.
When that brand new Xbox entered our apartment I thought how pretty the design was. How I was glad it wasn't another black box and this one was white and how much I liked the colour white. And how it stood out in beauty beside our media centre computer.Oh! and it's cordless. How convenient! ooooh how innocent I was!
Update: Last night my cat attacked the X-box - she sat in front of it hitting it with one paw then the other. I like to believe that she did it for me!

I'm in class and I'm kinda bored right now
I thought I'd take a programming fundamentals class and so...
I'm bored, I've finished all my labs ahead of everyone - I've gone around helping some people and now it's really quiet with the exception of tap tap tapping of keyboards.
Soooo bored... I've already gone through my labs and changed things to be funny so I can remember the exercises.

just a belated thank you

Last year on my yearly pilgrimage to Paris - I flew out to Belgrade to see friends. My hosts to the city were Slavisa Savic and his wife Lana. They took me in as family and showed me Belgrade. I visited his and his friend's design studios - Brand Mama and www.hamlita.com
Slavisa is one of Serbia's top designers (you can check him in the February or March issue of Print Magazine) as well as Lana who's parents are also graphic designers.
I can't believe how well we all got along - from the moment Slavisa picked me up at the airport we laughed all the way home.
Just want to say THANKS SLAVISA + LANA!!!!

the letraset started all this
I can't remember what shop I was in the other day but I saw letraset packages and that sent back to the days of my childhood...
When I was 9 (or was it 11) I begged my Dad to sign me up for a graphic design night course. (I had no idea night courses were for adults) But I discovered the letraset and I was hooked. I learned about logos and so on.... but the class project was to create your own logo. Well most people there created logos for their own companies but I being 9 or 11 didn't own anything. So I created a logo for my piano teacher using parts of letters broken up to create a music note in a music box.
I remember the teacher not ever taking me seriously as I was just a child - I don't think she really liked my logo either. Maybe it was too messy for her? But I didn't really care - I was hooked on the letraset!!! I remember they were a bit expensive for my parents to buy (they worked like crazy to give the kids anything educationally related)- I was HOOKED!!! I wanted to use it for my school homework, science fair presentation kits, title pages to reports, my shoebox/tissue box houses... anything.
I had no idea all that would lead to the career I have now...
I thought I was going to be a ballerina!

burned out
ooh boo hoo hoo!
I'm so burned out on skateboarding stuff. I just went to the bookstore and spent $150 on skateboarding books in desperation for inspiration. BUT I just got a new coffee table and not only these books serve as valuable resources of inspiration but they will also look great sitting on my coffee table! hahaha UGH!!! Need a holiday BADLY! Can't wait. Can't wait!!!

no love

I'm starting to find clients disrespectful and overly demanding. I feel like I've been squeezed dry and they keep on beating me for more - just - a - few - more - drops! Wring, wring. Squeeze, squeeze.
It's the end of the day and I'm so unbelievably tired. I was able to get out of the office for a few hours today for a client lunch. Now this one client actually understands as he's a programmer and understands incredible delivery deadlines and the trying times had with educating ignorant clients.
