Q: What is the one piece of career advice you would give an individual considering, or studying for, a future in the graphic design profession?

A: Only study graphic design if you love it. If you wanna be a fine artist (or a potter or a...) and study graphic design because of some vague promise of earning money, don't. It won't work. The people who love it will always do better work. And they will earn the money

Julie Verhoeven(Internal News)

Julie was born in Kent 1969 made the transition from studying Fashion, in particular illustration to establishing herself as a great artist, illustrator and designer. Her work encompasses delicate lines and colourful patterns. She has used this for work for Marc Jacobs, Dazed and Confused, Self Service and for french label, A.P.C. There is a lot of organic shapes used and this brings an environment combining Kate Moss with The Beatles and the hippie '60's age.

You can find a Monograph of Julie's work at YouWorkForThem: Julie Verhoeven: Monograph and a detailed article in Grafik Issue 144 (Sept 2006).
