Edinburgh Fringe T-Shirt (Ltd Edition)

A few weeks ago I was approached by Teetonic.com to submit some tee designs for the Ediburgh Festival Fringe. About a week after I found out one of my designs had been chosen as the winner!

Anyway to cut a long story short, I picked up my prizes and tees and had my photo taken outside the Fringe HQ in Edinburgh (of course!) with a few actors and performers at this years festival. (see below)

The t-shirt will be available exclusively for performers and can be purchased in the Fringe Press & Performers' centre in old Fishmarket Close.

I would just like to say thanks to Kevin at Teetonic and Claire Brady and the Team at the Fringe. Also a BIG thanks to the stars of RoaN Productions' Grasmere and Signapore Theatre's Under the Dragon Moon / The Rainbow Fish (C) and Adam Read from Eclipse (C Soco) modelling the winning t-shirt!

So if you've never been to The Fringe before click and want to find out more click on the link below! It only on for three weeks so get down and see some shows! Grasmere and Under the Dragon Moon are highly recommended!!! :)

SIX CITIES ||| GLASGOW ||| FELT TIP

Went along to the Grafik/Longlunch presents Felt Tip exhibition as part of the Six Cities design festival in Scotland. The exhibition was held in Glasgow, in the East end of the city near the Tron (maybe even was the Tron!!).

Was impressed with quite a few of the designers/illustrators who were asked to get involved. I thought how some of the exploration of ideas was really novel and interesting for example James Goggins' steciled alphabet. He bought it at a flea market in the states (NY i think...) and lay idle in his studio until he was asked to produce an A3 piece of artwork using felt tips... tad dah!... my favourite (see image above) Looks like it could be a close up of a sheet of metal from a distance...

I did try and get tickets for the Peter Saville talk in Stirling, but because they were free they disappeared in 2 seconds!! Pah!

The Glasgow west end festival is back for another year... www.westendfestival.co.uk
Mix of music, theatre, film, dance and comedy. The opening street party this year was a bit poo, and thought they might have built on last years but no... was even shorter this year! But some of the line up looks good!! Some interesting DJ sets etc...

On another note my new site is almost complete... 2 years in the making!!!... Watch this space!

PHENOMENAL!

Just back from a trip to Norway, Tvedestrand to be precise... Nice place... lots of hills, forest and mountains and fjords! No moose though! :(
Far more beautiful than I thought it would be, plus everyone we met was really nice.
Walking around I noticed use of some nice typefaces... the first being on a manhole cover! Which got me thinking, in all the places I've visited in the UK, I can't remember seeing a nice looking typrface on a manhole cover!... odd subject I know... but still, it's true!

Work has started interviews for the vacant position, there is a select few who are really talented, the other are somewhat bizzarre!... anyway good luck to all!

IRN BRU meets Teetonic.com...
Found out last week that I'd won the 'Phenomenal' design a Tee for IRN BRU competition! Get my design printed up, a PSP (saves me buying one!) and some free tee's thrown in for the bargain!... so that cheered me up!...

Also I have been invited to throw in some designs for another competition dshirt.co.uk

Looks like another busy month ahead scribbling away in the spare bedroom!

Plus... got my new mac all set up raring to go last night!!
