Visual Identity: Yak and Shokay

班禅大师说：“没有牦牛，就没有藏民族”，这次非常有幸能够相识并参与SHOKAY小组关于藏区牦牛的项目开发。

我从来没有到过西藏，这让我这个藏传的佛教徒心里多少有些愧疚，但能够为藏区藏民做一些事情的确让我感觉很兴奋。没人知道SHOKAY会盘活几个牦牛养殖场，会让多少藏区牧民脱离贫困，或是提供给川藏多少阿司匹灵，也许这些并不重要，重要的是每当我向西藏走近一步，都会有滚烫的血从心地涌出！

This logo is a straight-on version of a yak, which appears to be carrying on its back a particularly Southwestern Chinese patterned blanket.  As you may already know, many Chinese associate this decorative pattern with being fortunate, auspicious.

Why on this yak’s back?  First, this represents the origin of this material, the fact that this (piece of) material is coming straight from the yak itself.

Secondly, this represents the idea of transportation – that the yak is crossing global boundaries to personally deliver Shokay products to consumers.

This logo presents to the consumer the story of this yak’s journey which involves said yak taking a blanket made from its hair, carried on its back, making a special delivery to the marketplace.

Diyarbakir – unofficial capital of what many Kurds will refer to as Kurdistan, when referenced to as “Ahmet”, the Kurdish name, regarded by the Turkish government (and a considerable number of Turks as well) as a symbol for Kurdish separatism…. Hotbed for “political Islam… religious fundamentalism… terrorism”… the terms we’ve all heard rather not so sparingly used in one context or another. Mesopotamia – the land where settled agriculture set hold, the land which dawned on the first of our great empires, and which has consequently passes through the hands of countless successive rulers.

I AM ROBOT AND PROUD

We have organized this old fashion stereo equlpment into a new form to make this robot couple. We think the aged plastic and metal are way cooler than our modern electronic living style. This plece represents the spirit of the last generation -- the times we miss and the culture we have lost, We are concerned with the losing of culture and find it is a high price to pay for "*modern life*."

灰尘音乐社是爱音乐的黑麦和朋友们创造的一个自由音乐交流平台。因为我爱音乐，所以我爱灰尘；因为我喜欢黑麦，所以我喜欢灰尘，所以特别高兴这此能为灰尘设计网站的logo。

Ash music is originally created by Kurt and his friends for making a high quality musical communication platform. I love music, that why I love Ash Music, I love Kurt, that’s why I love Ash. I am happy to design the logo for Ash Music.

设计的概念非常简单：我们是小孩，有些单纯有些笨，但我们戴上耳机整个世界就变得不一样——马路变成草地，大厦变成森林，办公室变成可爱的窝，我们变成了爱音乐的小猴，蹦蹦跳跳，直到天亮！

It is a very simple idea: we are all kids, pure and innocent. The world is changed when we put the headphone on, road become lawn, building become forest, office become lovely sweet home, we become music money, jump around, till the morning light.
