work updates etc

added a bunch of new work to the site, including this new drawing that was an early logo idea for the ypsilanti gentlemen's club (a different, somewhat more final version is also up on the site). i'm pretty happy about the last few projects i've done, including the postcard and email invites that are up, and also some more to come including a map and a 10 x 8 ft sign i made for our new building (we just got it today and it's amazing how strange it is to see something you made enlarged to such an extent -- maybe like parenting?)

i remade my site again. the new version (3) is pretty bare bones, but very easy for me to update with the new work. i've always preferred portfolio sites that let the work speak for itself anyway. feedback welcome. website13156

companion poster to the last one. pretty banal subject matter, but i entertained myself by using the guy from the same picture i got the woman from on the last poster -- so in a way they're married.

if i had more time i think it would have been fun to actually draw out all the letters, but this needed to be done asap. maybe i can go back and do that sometime later.

we're resealing some cracks in the parking lot at work so my boss wanted me to make a sign reminding people not to step in them.

i got a sweet univers shirt right before leaving for chicago (for pitchfork, not full time).

i set up profiles with some new work at coroflot.com and talentdatabase.com -- both are sweet but i'm not jumping ship or anything

i completely redesigned my website -- website13156

i decided that what i really needed in a website was a simple portfolio setup, something i can easily add or subtract from as needed. no need for flash or any heavy-ended coding that i'm not comfortable doing -- just straight up html/css, keepin in lean. some of the stuff from the old site still had some worth (mostly just the comics), so i kept the old site up and added a link for it on the new one. i also added a link for my podcast, a new episode of which will be posted later today.

tomorrow i'll spread the word every where else, so if i can break my own record for hits.
