IDEA #324 : Maps and Diagrams + Andrew Blauvelt

This month, Idea Mag features thematic maps and diagrams produced by Japanese designers from the late 1960s and 70s (illustrations and interviews). This issue is also dedicated to Andrew Blauvelt's work. Andrew Blauvelt is Design Director and Curator at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. As a practicing graphic designer and as a creative director, he is one of the most influential figures in US graphic design. As a critic and historian, Blauvelt has authored essays and guest-edited special issues on design and culture for many publications. This special article features both of his works and texts using 40 pages edited/layouted by themselves.

Poana presents Les Oniristes

French graphic designers duo Poana are currently helding an exhibition called Les Oniristes (or The Oniristics) at the Condition Publique in Roubaix, France.

The exhibition began September 4th and will end October 11th with a special un-inaugural night.

Sigur Rós' Heima

Icelandic band Sigur Rós is going to release a film entitled Heima on November 5.
This movie is about their Icelandic 2006 summer tour and features shows they performed all around the island, mostly in small venues.
