Michael C. Place — aka Build — has recently collaborated to an advertising campaign to promote a new Pritt correction roller called MyStyle. He designed and produced an original handpainted artwork that is the core of the TV commercial. Click here to watch the complete movie.

The Icelandic National Concert & Conference Centre

The Icelandic National Concert & Conference Centre in Reykjavík will house a centre for music, culture and tourism in the best location in the capital of Iceland. It will create the best conditions for Iceland’s continually expanding musical life and will be the home of The Iceland Symphony Orchestra. Furthermore, it will include a top rate conference facility closely connected to a 400 room luxury hotel.
The prominent artist Ólafur Elíasson designed the building’s outer shell. One of Elíasson’s key interests is the dialogue between the individual and his surroundings, and this project reflects his success, creating the potential for exchanges between the building and the people living in Reykjavík, the city itself, as well as the surrounding landscape and weather.

After a journey at Fabrica and a surreal experience working for Studio Output in the heart of London, Dominic Prévost is now back in Montréal to start a whole new professional adventure.
With a multidisciplinary approach that streches from one ocean to the other, he had the chance to work with clients such as the Cité Universaire de Paris, Benetton, British Telecom, Sony and the legendary Ministry of Sound.

Sigur Rós' new video [NSFW]

Sigur Rós will be releasing their fifth album Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust (English translation : With a buzz in our ears we play endlessly), on June 23rd. Happy Birthday Mr. Frutiger

Born in 1928 near Interlaken (Switzerland) Adrian Frutiger is one of the predominant figures in 20th century European design. His career has taken him to many countries, and his work has touched designers around the world, inspiring generations of newcomers since the 1950s. On May 24, he will be 80 years old.

Adrian Frutiger’s career path is legendary. During the late 1940s, while he was still a student in Zürich, he created an extraordinary piece for his graduation project: a woodcut series of lettering styles illustrating the evolution of the Roman alphabet. After Charles Peignot at the Deberny & Peignot foundry in Paris received a copy of the prints, he quickly brought the young Adrian Frutiger to France.

Although he returned to Switzerland many years ago, Adrian Frutiger spent most of his professional career in Paris. For almost a decade, he was employed by Deberny & Peignot, until he set off on his own in 1961. Over the course of three decades, he designed numerous typefaces still used around the world today, including Avenir, Frutiger, Meridien, OCR B, Serifa, and Univers.

Surface by Restate Media

Büro Destruct Stifles

The Stifles are little creatures who spend all of their time kneeling and watching human activities. Their favorite spots are public spaces like coffee bars, windows and shop displays. But they also love to get taken around by you since they won't move by themselves. It is not known where they originally came from, but they seem to have adopted certain aspects of human culture.

The first series reveals 8 from an unknown amount of different species to be uncovered. Charakter-design by Lopetz (Büro Destruct), vinyl toy, limited edition, different colors, 60 x 30 mm.
