Project Three(Internal News)

My friend Leandro Mercurio aka Curios just released the new issue of Project Three. Project Three is an online magazine geared towards photography but mainly broadcasting in the genre of fashion photography in the Philippines.
Project Three (Version Philippines) adopts the same cause as the original site. It’s here to help promote and give recognition to the unknown talent of the Philippines and also a way of giving back to the artistic community of the Philippines.

Funk You(Internal News)

Funk You. Another winner from Stefan Lucut & Eduard Muresan. The site looks really neat. :D
From the website:
" FunkYou is a platform for experimental graphic design and will be the first book of its kind to be created in Eastern Europe. Our aim is to present designers with the opportunity to express themselves without the constraints of a usual designer-client relationship.
FunkYou stands for experiments and developing new ideas. Everything is possible and we want to encourage people to try a new way of thinking and creating.
The FunkYou community www.funkyou.ro is the online platform for the project. It’s a good place for networking and exchanging ideas with other people in the field. Also, it will feature regular interviews with great artists and studios, which we hope it will become a real source for inspiration. "

Web Tablet Competition(Internal News)

Michael Arrington of Techcrunch made an open call to create a web tablet costing under $200. It should be thin, runs on a Linux Kernel and is made from cheap hardware.
From Techcrunch:
"Here’s the basic idea: The machine is as thin as possible, runs low end hardware and has a single button for powering it on and off, headphone jacks, a built in camera for video, low end speakers, and a microphone. It will have Wifi, maybe one USB port, a built in battery, half a Gigabyte of RAM, a 4-Gigabyte solid state hard drive. Data input is primarily through an iPhone-like touch screen keyboard. It runs on linux and Firefox. It would be great to have it be built entirely on open source hardware, but including Skype for VOIP and video calls may be a nice touch, too."
The link.

I Want You to Want Me(Internal News)

I've been a big fan of Jonathan Harris' work... This is his new project -- I Want You to Want Me chronicles the world’s long-term relationship with romance, across all ages, genders, and sexualities, gathering new data from a variety of online dating sites every few hours. The system searches these sites for certain phrases, which it then collects and stores in a database. These phrases, taken out of context, provide partial glimpses into people’s private lives. Simultaneously, the system forms an evolving zeitgeist of dating, tracking the most popular first dates, turn-ons, desires, self-descriptions and interests.
Really great work!

Flickr Mass Action(Internal News)

Some flickr users are unhappy of the idea that Microsoft might take over Flickr mother brand - Yahoo. To show their protest they uploaded images to a Flickr group.
While some of them are funny, a lot are not really that witty.

NSW Police Department Ads(Internal News)

DDB Sydney and the NSW Police Department have released a print campaign to raise awareness of the fact that the number of teenagers dying as a result of listening to ipods while crossing the road is beginning to reach “epidemic proportions”. Seems like an interesting ad, the execution is great, but I think it could use a bit of variation in my opinion (The road location and the Ipod models, etc).
