Happy Xmas

I guess it's my turn now to whish you all Happy Xmas and some recreative Holidays! Without any doubt, we all have deserved some quietness...

PS: Please don't take the "bastard" too serious...haha, it just came in mind, when I saw this sleazy Santa Clause and it was the first word I thought of...

A new Mindflood(Internal News)

Got the Mindflood-Newsletter today which informed me kindly about the launch of their new Website.

Took a look and was impressed, as always by Mindflood works! The new website is really funny and has its own "We give love to all our clients"-concept, which isn't worked out kitschy. (though with such a concept for a website it could get so)

From a technical point of view, they enhanced the user-experience with support for browsing-history (forward/back-button), which is not really common for full-flash based websites! So it's not only an eye-catch but a technical improvement too.

Take a look and get involved with their love ;-) - www.mindflood.com

Jumpcut - Online Video Editor(Internal News)

A friend of mine just gave me this link to a new RIA (Rich Internet Application) that allows you to edit movie-files ONLINE with a nice Flash-based interface which is in fact not really beautiful but effective and easy to handle!

Jumpcut is a product coming out from the yahoo-works is, from my point of view, the counterpart to Google's YouTube

Give it a try! There are some funny effects and other nice options waiting for beeing discovered...

We'll see if Jumpcut will get on top ;-)

By the Ocean - CD Artwork

So my brother and his band, "By the Ocean", asked me to design something for their first (demo-) release entitled "A Static Grey". At first I wasn't really sure, if I'd be the right man for them, but then, as he played the unmastered tracks to me, i was relly hyped and pushed by the music...

6 hours later it was done (mainly) ;-) Please take a look at it, and tell me what you think...I'd be really interested in!

So, give it a try here

And here some links:

Riding on Mac

Since 3 days I'm riding on my new MacBook Pro and I'm really happy with it. The workflow is just great and of course the performance is purely awesome compared to my old Fujitso Siemens Notebook.

At first I was not really sure to throw the big amount of money away for it, but now I can say that it really pays off! Working is just fun again, so watch out for my new galleries I'll upload soon...hehe

til then and have a good one,

David Carson on Typeradio(Internal News)

Oh...yeah...I know, I know...there are several posts around here announcing Typeradio.

Although, I think you should definitely check out the new podcast-episodes with one of my long-term heroes, David Carson. Yes, I'm a fan, a huge fan of his work since the first day my teacher in school introduced me to David Carson and I'm fascinated everyday how his approach to solve "problems" influenced many designers around the world including me.

Of course there are many wanna be designers who rip off his style and say afterwards "Hey man, look! I did some really trendy grungy, trashy stuff!" without knowing what they've done actually and why and what special meaning they put on their design.

I hope, I'm not one of these dudes...

Ahhh....school starts...

On monday my last year in school started. It's not so much time towards the examination dates and of cource we all have to make our graduating projects. Actually that means no more than just having too little time to get cool client or personal projects done and of course to accept the inevitable, the school itself.

So, I hope I'll put this last year quick behind me and then have time to turn over to more important things, like thinking about my next steps and defining new goals I can follow in the future...

so til then and have a good one,

Me, the assistent

Today I went with a friend of mine, Andreas Hauch (photographer from Salzburg, Austria) on a little trip through the countryside of Salzburg in Austria, more precisely to St. Johann in Pongau and Tamsweg. I assisted him during the day with all the photographic stuff like changing lenses, holding the flash, bla bla...you know just those things...

It was a really great experience assisting him. I think I learned a bunch of things in photographing today and I'm looking forward to learn more soon...

til then,
