WHAT'S IN A NAME?
Our name WeShouldDoItAll (WSDIA) is a goal. We believe that designers and creative professionals should never feel constrained to a singular expertise.
To survive our own creative game, it is imperative to think that there is no single, absolute solution to a given problem. By immersing ourselves into different, and ever-changing - avenues of creative production and mediums, we are forced to consider the otherwise unconsidered. That method, we believe, is exciting and motivating as we move forward.

Helvetica @ MoMA

Helvetica at MoMA
2007 marks the fiftieth anniversary of Max Miedinger and Edouard Hoffmann’s design Helvetica, the most ubiquitous of all typefaces. Widely considered the official typeface of the twentieth century, Helvetica communicates with simple, well-proportioned letterforms that convey an aesthetic clarity that is at once universal, neutral, and undeniably modern. In honor of the first typeface acquired for MoMA’s collection, the installation presents posters, signage, and other graphic material demonstrating the variety of uses and enduring beauty of this design classic. As a special feature in the exhibition, an excerpt of Gary Hustwit’s documentary Helvetica reveals the typeface as we experience it in an everyday context.

Organized by Christian Larsen, Curatorial Assistant, Department of Architecture and Design.

Villa NM

Once again to prove that the Dutch do it right, we present, Villa NM by Amsterdanm based, UN Studio.

"In the design for this single family house the sloping site is used as a device for programmatic and volumetric organization. A box-like volume bifurcates into two separate volumes; one seamlessly following the northern slope; the other lifted above the hill creating a covered parking space and generating a split-level internal organization. The volumetric transition is generated by a set of five parallel walls that rotate along a horizontal axis from vertical to horizontal. The ruled surface maintaining this transition is repeated five times in the building. From inside the huge window strips from floor to ceiling allow a fluid continuity between interior and landscape. From the exterior the reflective glass seams to become one with its surroundings."

Diana Al Hadid - Artist/Sculptor

“Idealizations, romance, mystery, and anticipation are things suspended in distances, always beyond reach. My most recent sculptures have dealt with the study of place and myth, as they shape our sense of self. The identity of a place and its people is reciprocal: places identify a people as much as people identify a place. Places are more than geological boundaries; they are also defined by historical events.” – Diana Al Hadid

Baron House by Pawson

Architect, John Pawson built an amazing minimalist farmhouse (pdf file) for creative director/photographer Fabien Baron in a remote and rustic reaches of southern Sweden for their Summer holidays. One of our favorite pieces of architecture in the last few years. beautiful. (note: photos by Fabien Baron)

Pin Up Magazine(Internal News)

Still on our architecture kick, we found a new periodical to add to our shelves, introducing, 'Pin Up Magazine', Magazine for Architectural Entertainment. Page textures range from gloss to newsprint in a beautifully layed out piece of print that you would swear is a fashion document, but raises the stakes when you find skin and fabric of a different nature.

Dutch Do It Right(Internal News)

We've recently been admiring the work of Dutch architecture studios, Neutelings Riedijk Architects & seARCH. Both studios combine excellent form-making with great arrangement of programming concerns. Take a look at some of the Netherlands best.

NMDA

Neil M. Denari Architects have been designing for quite sometime now but in recent years are now constructing their designs and very sleek constructions they are. From his 1999 published book, 'Gyroscopic Horizons', you can see that the form making has matured. Please do enjoy NMDA.
