Holy shit, I bought Pantone-labelled gadget I don't even need. But it is soooo nice. I ain't even put any staples in it…

*Bon sang, j'ai acheté une agrafeuse Pantone alors que je n'en avais pas besoin. Mais elle est trop beeeeeelle.
Je n'ai même pas encore mis d'agrafes dedans…*

For Type Lovers Only

I was at Bernard Plossu's exhibition the other day. It was the opening, the guy is really kind, friendly, and this huge collection of pictures of the United States in the '70s are really like a trip to a beautiful forgotten place.
I went home with the book, and discovered this picture I haden't noticed first. A terrific example of, of, of what? I don't even know how to name it.
I'm sure Ben would love it.

Siéger Catalogue: still in progress

A preview from this unique piece. It's a giant book I designed for a series by photographer Yveline Loiseur. The buiding of the exhibition takes place today and tommorow. I won't be there, but I'll try to get you pictures of the work in situ.

Morceaux Choisis

It was the opening of an exhibition in Rouen featuring 15 local illustrators/designer. You can watch the gallery here, you may recognise Craoman, Fabrice Houdry, Pierre-Adrien… On this picture you can see Denis Couchaux and in the back is Emmanuel Kerner. The drawings on the wall? Oh these are mine, hihi.

My Stereohype Button Badge Design Competition 2006

OK, I did not win. I'm not even in the short list of 50.
BUT (yeah, have you seen that big but?) I'm mentioned in the "few outstanding designs which we would also have liked to produce but which did unfortunately not score enough points this time" list.
Check it, it says Loïc Boyer, and I'm goddam' proud of it, yeahyeahyeahyeah.

Street Cred.

It's always nice when you meet up with your own work in the street.

Graffiti's Uncool Again

Thanks to the "Clean & Secure" state of mind of these days' western world, graffiti's putting the bourgeois back in anger. Like this guy, or that one.
Hey kid, forget about your grandaddy's electric guitar, just grab the can and hit the street.
It's funny to notice that 30 years later, punk became cool, but graffiti is still a pain in the ass.
Watch out skaters, you may become outlaws again, like in the 80s.

The View From My Window

Thanks to this blog (come on, I'm sure you already know it) I discovered "that very, very www project":http://the-view-from-your-window.blogspot.com/index.html. Totally internet, as much in the idea, as in the means of realisation. I've just sent my view, now it's your turn, show us what you see.
Big up to Kirsty.

Faq Magazine 004

As one of the 7 guests curators of this great visual webzine, I've had my contribution published in the Curator Free Collective section. This issue's faq was "What's your favorite song?" and my answer was Voyager by Daft Punk (as you can see here).
Big up to Juliana Mundim.

Antoine & Manuel: the 20th century days

Look what I found in the closet: an exhibition poster from 1999. I remember I loved the exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, and the poster looked great to me. Very simple at the first glance, but very smart in the details.
Have you noticed the two white stripes on the left side, and on the uper side (yeah I know my pic's not great, but come on)? If you look carefully it draws a big star like those often used in the patterns in Morocco.
Sooo brilliant, maybe as brilliant as FedEx arrow.
And I'm not talking about the way the type is displayed… anyway, I just discovered this morning that it was an Antoine & Manuel poster - by this time I didn't know shit about those guys.
Gentlemen, chapeau bas.
