Jennifer Maestre

"Before pencils, Maestre was originally building with nails and a liquid rubber-type glue. She started to worry about inhaling all the toxic fumes, however, and began to experiment with different techniques until she settled on beading. Her method of choice? The peyote stitch."

Kozyndan - Beneath The Surface

30 May - 14 June 2008 - "[...] Enjoying a cult-like following all over the world, L.A-based Kozyndan are adored for their irresistible, digitally painted renditions of contemporary urban cityscapes and whimsical re-interpretions of Japanese ukiyo-e prints, which reflect their “unease and love of the modern world.” [...] BENEATH THE SURFACE will introduce two brand new editions of their trademark panoramics, a large-scale wallpaper cityscape, plus a series of one-off paintings and limited editions prints of never-before seen works, exclusively for Maxalot. For the opening night, Maxalot Amsterdam will play host to a live DJ set by Ninja Tunes’ Californian electro demi-God Daedelus."

The Aptera

The Aptera was designed from the ground up as an electric vehicle, and later as an extended range electric vehicle. After building the proof-of-concept Mk-0, we hired the automotive design firm, 'eleven', to help us further develop the concept vehicle. The 'eleven' team, led by Jason Hill and Nathan Armstrong, made great strides in the development of the Aptera's body styling, interior design, and structural engineering. Meanwhile, we refined the Aptera's shape to maximize efficiency using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), developed and built advanced suspension and drivetrain components, and integrated a strong yet lightweight composite shell. Our entire process has been developed in-house exclusively by Aptera for the Aptera Typ-1. Our structural elements have undergone countless revisions of FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to be lightweight, robust, and manufacturable.

Processing vs Print

Processing work is so beautiful and impressive, more with the right colors, interesting usage of shapes and very important, huge print format display. German artist Eno Hanze has showed that processing is not just for animation. He is translating his analogue experiences in digital work through VVVV. Enjoy!
The piece above called Der Wirklichkeitsschaum was programmed using VVVV, final size of 33 X 11.5 feet and was built using 288 A3 prints.
