DATA ( Designers Against Tibetan Abuse )

"As designers we have a social obligation to raise awareness of the horrors that less fortunate people face. Tibet has been illegally occupied by China since 1950 and yet only recently with the Olympic Torch fiasco have these attrocities been recognised by the popular radar..."

Thus the sole purpose of this society is to raise awareness of the facts and not to make judgement upon anyone, let alone discriminate against them..."

DATA is currently working on its first project, collaborating with some of the most renowned designers, illustrators, digital artists, photographers and motion designers to create a book.

Some confirmed participants are:

Although at this moment in time, participants for the book in project 1 are by invite only.

This was posted about a while back but must have been about an older version of this app because the comments were negative since you had to log in to use it. It's an insanely cool way to create color palettes using everything from your own color as a base, to an image from online. You can even export the palettes straight to AI or PS! Try Kuler

The Science of Survival

The Science of Survival exhibition is a fun and futuristic interactive experience based around environmental issues at the London Science Museum. ico design were the lead agency on the project, creating the overall brand, the exhibition graphics, two interactive exhibits and visitor rfid tracking.

Their website has tonnes of great behind the scenes photos & video time-lapses.

European Design Awards 2008 - winners online

Around 1000 participants from 34 different European countries took part in this year's ED-Awards.
The annual awards cover a large selection of the best in communication design for our continent with categories including everything from brand logo to motion design.
The awards ceremony took place in Stockholm a few weeks ago.
