Helvetica Doc.

The Helvetica documentary has been screening at festivals and select cinemas for a few months now, but the DVD release is still pretty new. I watched it last night and was blown away by the brilliance of this film. Insightful, informative and surprisingly entertaining, well worth getting a copy of. The extras are great too, with 'off camera' style interviews with some almost god-like names from the world of typography.

European Design Awards 2008 - Now open for entries

The European Design Awards is the comprehensive annual awards organization acknowledging the best of graphic design, illustration and multimedia design in Europe.
The jury is composed of representatives from prestigious communication design magazines from across Europe. These are: 2+3D, CAP & Design, +design, étapes, Eye, Graphic, IDPURE, KAK, novum, Progetto Grafico, TYPO and Visual.
The ED-Awards is endorsed by Icograda, the International Council of Graphic Design Associations.
Submissions deadline February 15th.

"In November 2007 the Evisu Cube Gallery went to China. To celebrate the spirit of artistic talent in China, 48 local artists in different art forms (including graphic designers, illustrators, fashion designers, sculptors, singers, architects, photographers etc.) were invited to participate in the Evisu Cube Gallery - China Chapter. Recruited in August 2007, each collaborator was given a pack containing Evisu denim and fabric, as well as extra “parts” such as buttons, rivets, labels and tags."
