Biography:

My name is Ivan Solbes, I’m from Madrid, and I’m an illustrator. In 1997 I graduated in the Fine Arts School of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, speciality painting.
In 1999 I started to look for work as an illustrator in advertising agencies, design studios, magazines, newspapers, internet, etc, etc.
At present, I work the majority of my time exclusively in the advertising field, collaborating as a freelance with different agencies. My work normally goes from the creation of illustrations with pre-define concepts given from the creative teams, to propose myself ideas and graphic solutions to the initial approaches of a publicity campaign.
I’m trying to make my work known to more people and facilitate the communication with the ones who already know me. Also I’m looking for the possibility to find new contacts for future jobs in new media inside and outside Spain, to meet people related with the world I’m involved in and collaborate within interesting projects that could come about. I’m specially interested in contacting with publishers to create illustrations for children’s literature, novels, or poetry as well as getting to know new advertising and design agencies in or outside Spain.
