A Surface computer is able to recognize physical objects from a paintbrush to a cell phone and allows hands-on, direct control of content such as photos, music and maps. Surface turns an ordinary tabletop into a dynamic surface that provides interaction with all forms of digital content through natural gestures, touch and physical objects.

European Design Awards 2007 results

Hi! I want to share the results from the first edition of the ED-Awards that concluded with a ceremony in Athens, May 11. The ED-Awards website has been updated with a gallery containing all winning submissions.

The Jury Prize was awarded to the “Gorilla series” created by De Designpolitie i.c.w. Lesley Moore and Herman van Bostelen (NL), while the European Design Hall of Fame distinction (voted for by the design community) was awarded to Erik Spiekermann.

The European Design Awards ceremony was preceded by a three day conference, two workshops and two exhibitions.

Next year’s events will take place in Stockholm.

BECK LIMITED EDITION PRINT AT PRODUCT OF GOD

The world’s leading illustrators and graphic artists are showcased by Product of God, a brand new online gallery offering limited editions by some of the most exciting contemporary illustrators and artists working today.

The launch of www.productofgod.net has been marked with an unique, official edition designed by Big Active, the award winning London-based creative consultancy, with musician BECK in collaboration with several top graphic artists and illustrators. The special print was borne out of the groundbreaking artwork for Beck’s latest album ‘The Information’ and features over 100 individually die-cut stickers by Kam Tang, Jasper Goodall, Michael Gillette, David Foldvari, Jody Barton, Vania Zouravliov and Genevieve Gauckler, to name just a few.

There are just 200 limited edition Beck art litho prints for sale on www.productofgod.net all hand-signed by Beck and individually numbered. Big Active designed and art-directed the image and last week won a D&AD global award for their work on the packaging and campaign for 'The Information' album. Big Active is best known for its music work and campaigns for Keane, Snow Patrol, Basement Jaxx, Goldfrapp and Michael Jackson. Product Of God
